ACSC President Nissen Davis said preparations are nearing completion for the facility to open to the public in November. But a private preview for the Aero Club has been arranged for Sept. 14, to include a guided tour, a presentation by Museum Executive Director Dan Ryan and a dinner at the nearby Spitfire Grill, he added.

Details can be seen on the Events Calendar page of this website.

The new facility at 3100 Airport Ave. in Santa Monica will eventually be home to some two dozen historic aircraft along with many related exhibits. Just outside is a beautifully restored DC-3 (see photo), thousands of which were built by the Douglas Aircraft Co. at the Santa Monica Airport in civil and military versions. One of the new museum’s prize exhibits is the famed board room used by CEO Donald Douglas and his staff.
