
An aviation history library that is growing in size and importance was dedicated in a ceremony as the William A. Schoneberger Research Library, honoring a leading aeronautical historian and former president of SCAA.

Located at the Flight Path Learning Center & Museum at LAX, the library contains many of the books written by Bill Schoneberger along with many of his personal papers, collected during a long career as an aerospace executive, public relations counselor and author. The library, available to students and researchers, also contains a large and growing collection of other historic aviation documents.
Schoneberger, now retired and living in Santa Barbara, is a founding director of Flight Path. He is now a director emeritus of both SCAA and Flight Path. Information about the center can be found at its website, www.flightpath.us.
The May 17 dedication ceremony was attended by a large number of Schoneberger’s colleagues and associates from SCAA, Flight Path and other organizations. He was present for the event along with his son an daughter-in-law. In addition to serving SCAA as president and a longtime member of its Board of Directors, Bill Schoneberger was for many years editor of its newsletter, The Aileron.
