Suzanne Fuentes was a member of the El Segundo City Council from 2010 to 2018, serving as Mayor from 2014 to 2018.

In addition to her tenure as a public servant, Suzanne was employed by TRW/Northrop Grumman for 29 years. Her last position was managing Quality Assurance in satellite integration, test, and launch. She was honored in 2008 as one of the company’s Women of Achievement.

Suzanne serves on the South Bay Aerospace Alliance Executive Board.  She served on the executive board of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Society for Quality and received its Community Service Award in 2010. In 2017, Women In Defense, Greater Los Angeles Chapter, recognized Suzanne with its Service to the Flag award.

Her passions include volunteering at her local USO and supporting retired military working dogs.  In 2010, Suzanne founded Space Elves, a holiday giving program that fulfills the Christmas wish lists of hundreds of children of deployed U.S. Marines. The El Segundo Chamber of Commerce recognized Suzanne as its 2013 Volunteer of the Year for founding Space Elves.

Suzanne earned a Bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University and a Master’s degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She is a Protocol School of Washington, DC graduate.
